Meet Margaret Wilbourne, one of our incredibly talented designers here at Sock Club! Known for her bold and funky designs, Margaret brings her creative flair to every client project, ensuring that each pair of custom socks tells a unique story.
Her eye for detail and ability to translate brand visions into eye-catching sock designs has made her an integral part of our team. We’re excited to highlight her work and give you a peek into her creative process!
What's it like working in your role at Sock Club for someone who wouldn't know at all?
Margaret: Being a Designer is like that game at the carnival where you throw a fishing pole over a little wall and catch a surprise! There's such a wide variety of clients that are looking for cool ideas, so you never know what you'll get to design.
Who or what inspires you?
Margaret: I'm inspired by Humans of New York! It's an Instagram account that shares interviews with random people. I love reading their stories and thinking about how even though we're on our own paths and face different challenges, we're all just here trying to figure out life.
What’s the last book you read? Why/what did you learn?
Margaret: The last book I read was Painting in Time by Maylis de Kerangal. It's about a gal who embarks on a journey to master the trompe l'oeil technique, which is when you paint finishes so realistically that plaster looks like real marble or wood. It was so fun to learn about this tiny corner of the art world and to think about how impactful the tiniest of details can be – in our lives or our art!

Margaret: Dave Matthews Band
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Margaret: I'd love to hike part of the PCT!
When people talk about the impact you make at Sock Club, what do you want them to say?
Margaret: I want to bring positivity and joy for the little things to the team, as well as funky ideas for cool sock designs!
What initiative on another team are you most interested in learning about currently?
Margaret: I'm most interested in learning about the Dev Team and seeing how they make all the magic work!
