"We’re always looking for volunteer appreciation gift ideas. We wanted something new and different and custom socks just stood out. Our ACA socks definitely draw a comment and a smile, so we've certainly enjoyed them.” - Craig Sims
WE RECENTLY CAUGHT UP WITH OUR FRIENDS AT ARLINGTON CLASSICS ACADEMY, A TOP-NOTCH CHARTER SCHOOL SPECIALIZING IN A GREEK EDUCATION MODEL. THEY PARTNERED WITH THE TEAM HERE AT SOCK CLUB TO COLLABORATE ON A SOCK GIVEN TO OVER 1,000 VOLUNTEERS AS A THANK YOU FOR THEIR SUPPORT. THEY HOSTED A RECEPTION AND GAVE THEM CUSTOM ACA SOCKS IN CELEBRATION OF THEIR HARD WORK.
As a public charter school, ACA works with a relatively small budget. Faculty typically have dual roles and they rely on a strong community of volunteers. According to Mia Russo, Coordinator of Fundraising and Development, “Our Parent Teacher Organization has been incredibly instrumental in providing much-needed resources, activities, and morale-boosting celebrations for our students, parents, and staff. Through their generous donation of time, our parents send a positive message to all students about the importance of education.”
ACA heard about sock club after their Executive Director, Craig Sims (see above), received a pair of Sock Club custom socks from Charter School Capital and that’s what got the ball rolling. “When Mr. Sims received them, it inspired us to make our own custom socks. We’re always looking for volunteer appreciation gift ideas. We wanted something new and different and custom socks just stood out. Our ACA socks definitely draw a comment and a smile, so we've certainly enjoyed them.”
Their custom sock design features the ACA Pillar, which is inspired by the Greek education model they’ve structured their courses around. “It was one of our earliest symbols and is well-known imagery for our school.” The socks were knit in a classic Argyle pattern with ACA’s school colors. At Sock Club, we call them Kelly, Lagoon, Navy, and Bleach. Check out ACA’s custom sock design mockup at the end of the blog!
