Sock Club Earns EcoVadis Bronze Medal in First-Ever Sustainability Assessment

Sock Club has earned an EcoVadis Bronze Medal in its first sustainability assessment.

We received an overall score of 68 out of 100. That result places Sock Club in the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months.

The assessment gives us something more useful than a badge. It gives us a clear benchmark for the work we have done and the work still ahead.

What EcoVadis Measures

EcoVadis evaluates how a company manages sustainability across four areas:

• Environment
• Labor and human rights
• Ethics
• Sustainable procurement

The score reflects the quality of the company's sustainability management system at the time of the assessment.

An EcoVadis medal is not a product certification. It does not mean every product or business practice is sustainable. It recognizes the systems a company has built to manage and improve its performance.

Under EcoVadis medal criteria, Bronze represents the top 35% of assessed companies.

Sock Club's First Scorecard

Sock Club scored 68 out of 100 overall.

The global average in our scorecard benchmark was 57.1.

First-time rated companies averaged 51.5. Companies with more than 10 years in the EcoVadis network averaged 63.2.

We are proud that our first assessment cleared each of those benchmarks. We also know that one score is a starting point, not a finish line.

Our Results by Category

Sustainable Procurement: 70

Sustainable Procurement was our strongest category.

Sock Club scored 70, compared with a global benchmark average of 47.5.

EcoVadis classifies a score of 65 or higher in this theme as Advanced. Only 19% of companies globally reached that level in the benchmark information included with our result.

Procurement matters because a company's impact extends beyond its own office. It includes how the company evaluates suppliers, manages risk, documents expectations, and makes sourcing decisions.

Labor and Human Rights: 69

Sock Club scored 69 in Labor and Human Rights. The benchmark average was 59.5.

This category looks at the policies and systems a company uses to support working conditions, employee rights, health and safety, diversity, and related practices.

Ethics: 67

Sock Club scored 67 in Ethics. The benchmark average was 53.8.

Ethics covers how a business manages issues such as corruption, conflicts of interest, information security, and responsible business conduct.

Environment: 63

Sock Club scored 63 in Environment. The benchmark average was 59.1.

This category includes environmental policies, energy and emissions, materials, waste, product impacts, and the systems used to measure improvement.

Environment was our lowest of the four scores. That makes it an important area for the next phase of our work.

Why This Matters to Buyers

Distributors and enterprise buyers face more questions about sourcing, labor, environmental impact, and supply-chain transparency.

A sustainability claim without evidence does not answer those questions.

The EcoVadis assessment gives buyers an independent framework they can use during vendor reviews. It also gives our team a shared scorecard for deciding where to focus next.

Our domestic manufacturing model already provides visibility into much of our flagship supply chain. Sock Club's USA-made socks use cotton sourced and spun in the Southeast, with knitting and finishing in North Carolina.

What Comes Next

We will use the scorecard as a working document.

The assessment helps us identify gaps, strengthen policies, improve documentation, and track progress across each theme. It also gives us a baseline for future assessments.

Our priorities include reducing plastic, exploring more sustainable shipping options, expanding sustainable product choices, finding uses for yarn waste, increasing supply-chain transparency, and reducing our carbon footprint.

We expect the details to evolve as we learn more.

Progress Requires Measurement

Sustainability work becomes more useful when a company can measure it, explain it, and improve it.

The Bronze Medal recognizes the system Sock Club has built so far. Our 68-point score gives us a strong first benchmark. The category results show where we are leading and where we need to do more.
