Ashby Creative Lab was founded by Liz Benedetto over 15 years ago with the vision of creating a studio dedicated to being curious and the freedom to pursue creative design solutions.
Clients often remark that when they partner with Liz, it is like outsourcing an entire creative department because of the studio’s scope of services, including branding, website design, product design, photography, video creation, advertising, presentations, and social media strategy and implementation.
Ashby Creative Lab created an entire brand identity for Adlai E. Stevenson High School located in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Every year, Stevenson’s Superintendent, Eric Twadell, comes up with a special birthday gift that he shares with each employee on their birthday. As teachers were returning in-person post-pandemic, he knew that this year’s birthday gift needed to be special.
Teaming with Stevenson’s Jaimie Oh, Liz was challenged to find a gift that works for both men and women – something that was universal, something that also gives back to charity and is also within their budget. As they brainstormed together, Jaimie suggested that socks might be what they should explore. While researching custom sock manufacturers, Liz came across Sock Club. She was impressed by Sock Club’s commitment to community, U.S.A. manufacturing, and customization for socks and packaging.
She decided to partner with Sock Club to create high-quality custom socks and create a design that would embody Adlai E. Stevenson High School’s values of commitment to self, others, and learning, along with a tie to patriotism and ensures employees feel like a valued part of the Stevenson Patriots community.
The birthday package includes a custom card that matches the custom socks packaging and custom-designed socks in an elegant gray with the school’s logo repeated in a grid. The sole of the socks read, “We walk together” to reinforce the message of unity as the entire staff returns to in-person learning. Even though they were apart for a while, none of them are alone.
