What is your background prior to Sock Club?
Kara: I’ve been in the marketing world for the past few years, on both agency and in-house teams. Before joining Sock Club, I freelanced, handling social media for tech and construction companies in Austin.
What is your favorite thing about working at Sock Club?
Kara: Choosing a favorite thing about working at Sock Club is tough, but if I had to pinpoint, definitely the amazing team camaraderie. It's a fantastic blend of great people and projects for custom socks that make each day at Sock Club a blast!
What's it like working in marketing for Sock Club for someone who wouldn't know at all?
Kara: Every day varies, but it typically involves collaborating with teammates on marketing and sales materials, writing copy, designing graphics, updating product listings, and more!
Who or what inspires you?
Kara: My mom is my biggest inspiration; she's not just a hard worker; she's the ultimate multitasker, excelling not only in her career but also as a devoted mother, wife, and grandma. The way she balances it all with grace, dedication, and a smile is truly remarkable.
What’s the last book you read? Why/what did you learn?
Kara: I'm diving into Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert right now. It's all about the magic of inspiration and finding joy in our creative pursuits. Gilbert's got this awesome mix of spirituality and practical advice that just clicks.
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Kara: Blake Shelton—yeehaw!
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Kara: The Amalfi Coast!
What is something people might not know about you?
Kara: I have five older half-sisters; two on my mom’s side and three on my dad’s. I also have 11 nephews and nieces. Holiday get-togethers can be quite loud but always a blast!

Kara: I want to be known for shaping a distinct narrative that makes us stand out, building a brand identity that connects with our audience. Whether it's in our marketing, social media, or customer interactions, I want to leave an impression that mirrors the essence and values of Sock Club.
What initiative on another team are you most interested in learning about currently?
Kara: The new Customer Success team! Their dedication to enhancing our custom sock experience is something I believe will truly take us to the next level as a company. I'm eager to learn more about their initiatives and how their efforts align with our overall goals.
