Founded in 2009 and based in Palo Alto, Calif., Technica Communications is an award-winning, boutique, public relations, social media, and content marketing firm. With over 90% of its client base focused on the cleantech and sustainability markets, Technica possesses the deep expertise and contacts required to deliver top-quality results in these challenging sectors.
As the majority of Technica staff have previous journalism and newsroom experience, the firm specializes in effective reporter outreach. Catering to startups, Technica provides clients the flexibility to design public relations and media outreach packages that fit their needs and budget, without sacrificing quality. Domain experience includes cleantech sectors such as aviation, hydrogen, electric vehicles and charging, solar, energy storage, smart grid, utility transmission, LED lighting, e-mobility, transportation, and more.
As a fully remote company, their biggest priority is connecting with their clients and internal team beyond meetings, emails, and messages. Since everyone is located around the world, there are not many chances to schedule in-person retreats and gatherings. A majority of their employees have never seen or interacted with one another in person before. They try to promote their company culture and values whenever possible to build real-life, positive company representation.
“We wanted to gift our clients and internal team with something practical they could use every day. With many staying home due to the pandemic, we thought socks would be a perfect idea” says Technica Communications.
Technica Communications found Sock Club by searching online for swag ideas. They were drawn in by our ease of ordering and straightforward process that allowed them to create a great thank you gift for their clients and internal team.
“In addition to gifting socks for this year’s thank you gift, we also sent a postcard with photos of employees, so clients, and team members, could see the great people they work with on a daily basis at Technica!”
When asked about a challenge they face in their industry, Technica said, “Quality professionals understand that good PR teams are ones that others are willing to refer. We struggle to stay top of mind with our audiences and contacts so that when they do have an opportunity to recommend a PR firm they remember to mention us. Providing our clients with quality swag reminds them of the quality of services we provide. Giving them unusual or unique swag reminds them that we are a team that is so very creative in our ideas and execution of our services. We work to match our values to our swag.”
Technica said their clients and team members were very excited about their custom socks. They received many photos and client requests for extra socks to give to their kids or family members.
“We certainly would recommend Custom Socks to clients and such. We are diversifying our swag options for clients but would consider including new sock designs in our swag packages again.”
